As usual, DPAA was at the center of it all, connecting members to opportunities and business conversations. It all happened at the Fontainbleau hotel, site of the new POSSIBLE conference. The POSSIBLE Event
explored the future of marketing with over 2,000 people in attendance and celebrity speakers such
as LL Cool J., Elon Musk, A-Rod, Jon Bon Jovi, plus marquee brands and global agencies.
Much like its CES and Cannes Lions experiences, DPAA guided members through the event. DPAA in planning the member trip for nearly a year enabled members with a “sherpa” tour and hefty discounts to
make it easy for members to connect and learn.
DPAA kicked off the POSSIBLE conference with its LatamDOOH event which focused attention on the
growing OOH, DOOH and programmatic opportunities pointedly in the markets of Latin America.
Expert speakers Ruben Gomez, Director of Business, Data & Intelligence for GroupM Latin America;
Joao Ferraz de Mesquita, Country Manager for Amazon Prime Video Brazil; Luico Schneider, Chief
Marketing Officer, Eletromidia; Claudia Damas, CEO & Partner at Altermark; and Hector Gonzalez,
Chief Revenue Officer for US & Latam at Hivestack talked extensively about the growing role of
digital out of home advertising in today’s omnichannel mix and the need to view the Latin American
market as not one but several distinct markets. Over 120 members and others in the DOOH industry
participated in the event that included sufficient time for networking. The session was sponsored by
Hivestack.
DPAA’s presence continued the next day as President & CEO Barry Frey took the stage with Kay
Vizon, Head of Integrated Media at Kroger to talk about the use of video in out of home advertising
and in the hot category of in-store/retail media. The duo briefed the audience on the opportunity
and growing presence of out of home advertising, specifically with video networks. The session aptly
named Omnivideo is also the theme of this year’s DPAA Summit on October 10 in New York.
Later that (Tuesday) evening, DPAA hosted a global dinner for its Board members and POSSIBLE
speakers and as is DPAA’s tradition, the dinner at hot Miami restaurant, Sexy Fish, gave members
a chance to network and relax from the busy conference.
On the last day of the conference as POSSIBLE was winding down, DPAA partnered with the Daily
Drip, the content company that provides programming for South Florida businesswomen, for their
Leading between the Lines series. This panel featured the leaders from DPAA’s Women’s
Empowerment Initiative (WE.DOOH) as Debbie Benadiba, CEO, Talon Canada moderated a panel
that included Rosie O’Meara, Chief Revenue Officer, Ground Truth; Tiffany Southwell, VP of OOH at
Catalina, and Nicolette Leonardis, Co-Founder, Vertical Impression. The panel explored the
challenges of female leaders today and had great participation from the Daily Drip sponsor TD Bank.
A jam packed three days for DPAA members with introductions and business conversations. In
between the sessions and panels DPAA CEO Barry Frey was interviewed by Digiday and Assembly
Global. One thing for certain, when there is a big event in your town, rely on DPAA to lead the way
and make sense of it all!
