The two purchased the company from Kirk Veale, who founded it 40 years ago in 1982. Veale first established his outdoor advertising division after discovering that billboards were a highly effective means of driving business to his car dealerships. The local, family-run company has thrived over the years and grown to include 22 billboard faces in Northern California, including digital and static billboards. Tom Jackson spent the last 25 years as the general manager of VOA serving as Mr. Veale’s right-hand man, colleague, and confidant. Together the two grew the company. Now Tom and Leanna Jackson will carry on the Veale Outdoor mission, working side by side to serve with exceptional service helping both local and national businesses grow.
Veale Outdoor Advertising’s Northern California inventory is in Sonoma County and adjacent to Hwy. 101 and in Solano County adjacent to Interstate 80. VOA billboards are seen by over 8 million vehicles per month who travel the San Francisco Bay Area, including, Sonoma County Wine Country, U.C. Davis, Sacramento (CA State Capital), Healdsburg, Santa Rosa, Vacaville, and Lake Tahoe & Reno, NV. VOA is also powered by EverGreen, the 100% renewable option from Sonoma Clean Power.
The average individual spends up to 20 hours a week commuting and out of their home, and for 69% of these people, purchasing decisions are made outside of the home. A recent Nielsen study reported that 82% of drivers were able to recall the billboard advertising they saw, making outdoor and especially digital outdoor advertising a highly effective way to get messages out to consumers.
