Voodooh’s national campaign reminds brands of the power of contextually relevant DOOH ads

Voodooh, the dynamic digital out-of-home (DOOH) content production company, has launched a campaign in partnership with Ocean Outdoor. Its goal is to remind brands of the power and value of contextually relevant advertising.

This time, Voodooh’s team used the technology and creativity that they normally offer to advertisers to develop a campaign promoting their own capabilities.

The ads dynamically adapt to the individual billboard location and weather condition. The live messaging is customised for each setting (e.g. Birmingham, Edinburgh, Westfield) along with real-time updates to match the current climate (e.g. sun, rain). The campaign also highlights the many other intelligent features of digital OOH. Those include live updates, social media, languages and user-generated copy.

Ocean Outdoor recently donated £10 million worth of DOOH ad space across Ocean screens in 12 UK cities to help small- and medium-size businesses (SMEs) during the pandemic crisis.

Keith Nilsen, Voodooh Founder said:

The Ocean SME Support Fund came at the perfect time. From various data we’ve seen across UK outdoor, it’s clear the medium remains powerful and trusted even within the current Covid19 situation. Context is now more relevant than ever.

We wanted to remind brands – and creatives! – that not only is there significant value in going the dynamic route on their outdoor campaigns, but that there is also an 100% independent, world-class team available to develop and execute their data, social, and UGC-integrated ideas.”

Andrew Gibson, Head of Trading and Investment at Ocean Outdoor, said: “Our message to businesses has been, ‘don’t go dark during this time,’ but of course we understood that income streams and operating costs are under incredible strain. The SME fund was set up to try and alleviate some of that stress and so it is great to see brands using Ocean locations to advertise their message and hopefully have a rapid recovery from this crisis.”

The digital out-of-home campaign is running nationally in the UK until 10th May 2020.
